Many Brisbane homes — especially those built before the 1990s — still run on old fuse-based switchboards without safety switches. These boards weren't built for the number of appliances, air conditioners and electronics in a modern household, and they don't offer the same protection against electric shock and fire as a modern board.

Do I need a switchboard upgrade if my power still works fine?
An old board can still function day-to-day while lacking safety switches or having circuits at risk of overload. We can assess your board and tell you plainly whether an upgrade is needed now or worth planning for.
Will the power be off for long during the upgrade?
Most domestic switchboard upgrades are completed within a day, with the power off only while the new board is connected.
